The invention relates to the application of nanocrystalline coatings consisting of metals and alloys to metal parts and can be used in microelectronics, RF engineering, optics and optoelectronics, instrument making and catalysis. Degreasing, chemical etching, activation, washing and application of a nanocrystalline coating is performed without the application of an electric current or with electro-deposition, using a pulsed current, at a temperature of 30-90°С, wherein the parts are shaken during the process of the activation and the application of the nanocrystalline coating at a frequency of 60-90 oscillations per minute. The composition for activating the prepared parts comprises the following ingredients, in % by mass : chloroauric acid 0.1 -0.3, silver chloride 0.05-0.2, cobalt chloride 0.1 -0.3, ammonium chloride 0.1 -1.0, propylene carbonate 5-22, dimethyl sulphoxide - remainder. The composition for application of the nanocrystalline coating has the following ingredients, in % by mass : a halide of a precious metal or a corresponding complex metal hydrohalide acid 0.1 -1.6, ammonium chloride 0.1-3.0, boric acid 0-3.0, a soluble salt of yttrium or a rare-earth metal from the group consisting of : cerium, lanthanum, europium, terbium, neodymium, gadolinium 0.1-8.3, and/or a soluble salt of a metal forming an alloy 0-4.5, propylene carbonate 5-22, dimethyl sulphoxide - remainder. What is produced is : a universal, ecologically sound coating of various alloys, which makes it possible to regulate the properties of coatings.
