To provide a tool comprising a sialon material which is excellent in a reaction resistance to a cut material such as a heat-resistant alloy, and has a high wear resistance in a cutting test.SOLUTION : In a tool comprising a sialon ceramic material, the sialon ceramic material includes a β-sialon phase, a glass phase and an optional α-sialon phase, and may include the α-sialon phase within a range in which the α-sialon phase does not exceed 15% as a weight percentage to a total weight of the α-sialon phase and the β-sialon phase. An area percentage occupied by a glass phase, which is appeared in a cross-sectional area of the sialon ceramic material, is 6 to 10%, the glass phase and an optional α-sialon phase constitution particle contains yttrium element and a light rare earth element, and the light rare earth element is one kind or more of a specific light rare earth element selected from a group comprising neodymium element, praseodymium element and samarium element. Further, a nickel-based super heat-resistant alloy processing method using the above-said tool, and a method for manufacture of the above-said tool are provided.SELECTED DRAWING : None
