PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a white thermosetting silicone resin composition for forming an optical semiconductor case having a high reflectance in a short wavelength region of 350-400 nm, and to provide the optical semiconductor case for an optical semiconductor for LED, which is formed of the cured material of the composition. SOLUTION : The white thermosetting silicone resin composition for forming the optical semiconductor case includes, as essential components, (A) a resin-like organopolysiloxane, (B) a rare earth oxide, (C) an inorganic filler (but excluding rare earth oxides), (D) a curing catalyst, and (E) an organopolysiloxane.
