PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a wavelength conversion material capable of reducing pulse width of light after wavelength conversion, a light reception system and a distance measuring system.SOLUTION : There is provided a wavelength conversion material (5) containing (a) a rare earth element and (b) a semiconductor or an organic dye capable of energy transfer with excited rare earth element and having a boundary of an area including the (a) and an area including the (b). The wavelength conversion material has a structure where a first layer (1) including the (a) and a second layer (3) including the (b) are laminated alternately. Also the wavelength conversion material contains particles (11, 19) having an area (15) including the (a) and an area (17) including the (b).SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 1
