The invention relates to magnesia burned object powder. The invention provides a magnesia powder. When the magnesia powder is motivated by ultraviolet light generated by gas discharge of Xe gas, the magnesia powder discharges ultraviolet light with wavelength near 250nm in a high efficient way. The magnesia burned object powder is obtained from burned powder mixture comprising magnesia source powder, and a powder selected from fluoride of at least one assistant metal of alkali earth metals, rare earth metals, aluminum, zinc and tin except alkali metals and magnesium. It contains fluoride in content of 0.05 to 30 mols based on 100 mol magnesium in the magnesia source powder.
