PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a coupling device capable of suppressing the demagnetization of an R-T-B magnet even if using the R-T-B magnet, while suppressing enlargement. SOLUTION : A driving side rotating portion 1 and a driven side rotating portion 2 of a coupling device 100 respectively include magnets 12 and 22 which are formed on opposite surfaces 12a and 22a sides, and magnetically couple the driving side rotating portion 1 and the driven side rotating portion 2. The magnets 12 and 22 are made from R-T-B magnets mainly containing a light rare-earth element, a transition element composed principally of Fe, and B (boron). On the magnets 12 and 22, groove portions 12f and 22f are respectively provided between different magnetic poles adjacent to each other. Heavy rare-earth elements are scattered to the magnets 12 and 22 through the groove portions 12f and 22f, thereby providing a heavy rare-earth element scattering area. COPYRIGHT : (C)2012, JPO&INPIT
