PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a thermoplastic resin composition for laser marking having improved laser processability and particularly wide degrees of freedom of coloring. SOLUTION : This thermoplastic resin composition for laser marking comprises a rare earth element compound containing no other metal. The rare earth element compound containing no other metal includes oxides of rare earth elements. Examples of the rare earth element include La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Tb, Ho and Er. The content of the rare earth element compound containing no other metal is, for example 0.0001 to 5 parts by weight, relative to 100 parts by weight of a thermoplastic resin.
