PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a porous material effectively suppressing contraction/expansion caused by reduction/oxidation cycles, and to provide a fuel cell and a fuel battery. SOLUTION : The porous material contains at least one kind out of at least two kinds of iron group elements containing Co, their alloys (containing a solid solution) and their oxides, and rare earth element oxides containing at least one kind of rare earth element.
