PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide ferritic stainless steel free from harmful elements such as Pb, excellent in corrosion resistance and hot producibility and also excellent in environmental harmonization. SOLUTION : This stainless steel has chemical components containing, by mass, <=0.08% C, 0.05 to 3% Mn, 0.01 to 0.1% P, 15 to 22% Cr, 0.03 to 0.3% Sn and <=0.08% N, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities as fundamental components, and if required, the other elements are added in prescribed quantity by the combination of S or Bi and one or more kinds of elemental groups selected from one or more kinds of elements selected from Cu, Mg and Ag, or one or more kinds of elements selected from Si, Al and O, or one or more kinds of elements selected from Ni, Co and Mo, or one or more kinds of elements selected from Nb, V, W, Ta and Zr, or one or more kinds of elements selected from B, Ca, rare earth metals and Ti.
