PURPOSE : Book sterilizing method and apparatus are provided to efficiently implement the sterilization of books by preventing the re-sterilization of sterilized books. CONSTITUTION : A book sterilizing method includes the following; information related to books to be sterilized is read; the read information is analyzed to verify whether the books are sterilized or non-sterilized; if the books are non-sterilized, the door(20) of a main body(10) is opened; whether a sterilizing signal is input is verified; unless the sterilizing signal is input, the reading process with respect to another book is repeated; if the sterilizing signal is input, the door is closed; and a sterilizing process is implemented in the main body.
