PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an alloy material for an R-T-B-based rare-earth permanent magnet capable of providing high coercivity (Hcj), and a method for producing the R-T-B-based rare-earth permanent magnet using the same and excelling in productivity. SOLUTION : This alloy material for an R-T-B-based rare-earth permanent magnet contains : an R-T-B-based alloy comprising R which represents two or more kinds selected from rare earth elements, T which represents a transition metal essentially containing Fe, B, and unavoidable impurities, wherein a Dy content is >10 and <31 mass%; and metal powder.
