The laser welding process comprises generating a laser beam (3) using a static laser source (2) comprising a fiber doped with rare earth elements e.g. ytterbium, and welding the two structures by forming a weld cordon. One of the structures is transparent to laser beam, and the other is capable of absorbing the laser beam. The orientation of the laser beam is controlled by mirrors. Each laser source is connected to a movable unit (6) controlled by the laser beam. The welding is carried out simultaneously by mechanically pressing the structures against one another. The beam is passed to the structures at an angle of 45[deg] relative to a direction of the structure. The incidence angle of the laser beam is kept constant during movement of the laser beam relative to the structures. An independent claim is included for a laser machine (1) for welding an assembly of two structures.
