PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an inorganic EL element that can prevent the element from deteriorating due to oxidation of a light-emitting layer and that can simplify a manufacturing process, and to provide a method for manufacturing the inorganic EL element.SOLUTION : An oxidizing system hardly affected by oxidation due to moisture and oxygen in air is used as a host compound of an inorganic EL element 1. In the oxidizing system, for example, a calcium phosphate Ca3(PO4)2 that is one of alkaline earth metal phosphates is used. The calcium phosphate Ca3(PO4)2 is doped with a positive trivalent europium Eu3+ as a red phosphor, and is doped with a positive trivalent thulium Tm3+ or a positive divalent europium Eu2+ as a blue phosphor; and is co-doped with a positive trivalent terbium Tb3+ and a positive trivalent cerium Ce3+ as a green phosphor. Since the rare earth elements have an ion radius similar to that of calcium ions in the calcium phosphate Ca3(PO4)2, the rare earth elements intrudes into the clearance between the ions to adhere to the calcium phosphate Ca3(PO4)2.COPYRIGHT : (C)2012, JPO&INPIT
