PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide suppressing artifact occurrence in high reproducibility while maintaining good light output or the like in a ceramic scintillator using a rare earth acid sulfide fluorophor sintered compact. SOLUTION : The ceramic scintillator 1 includes a plurality of scintillator unit elements made of the sintered compact of a rare earth acid sulfide fluorophor such as Gd2O2S : Pr fluorophor, for example, a plurality of scintillator chips 2. In this ceramic scintillator 1, the plurality of scintillator unit elements are such that among the ray-beam quality response property of each of the scintillator unit elements, when the maximum value is assumed as A and the minimum value B, the ray-beam quality response property distribution index determined from the formula : [ä(A-B)/A}×100(%)] is less than 0.5%.
