PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rubber composition for a sidewall, which is earth-friendly by improving the content ratio of resources other than petroleum, can be prepared for the decrease of the quantity of oil supplied in the future and exhibits excellent resistance against flexure and crack and excellent tear strength. SOLUTION : Provided is the method for producing the rubber composition for the sidewall, which includes : a step 1 for kneading a natural rubber, silica, and a silane coupling agent; a step 2 for kneading a kneaded product 1 obtained by step 1, stearic acid, and zinc oxide; and a step 3 for kneading a kneaded product 2 obtained by step 2 and an epoxidated natural rubber.
