PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an R-Fe-B-based rare earth permanent magnet which has both of coercive force and residual induction improved without substantially containing other elements than basic elements such as R, Fe, Co and B. SOLUTION : The R-Fe-B-based rare earth permanent magnet is formed of a sintered compact having a composition comprising 27.5 to 30.5 wt.% R (wherein R is one or more rare earth elements based on a concept that the earth elements include Y), 0.5 to 4 wt.% B, 1.3 wt.% or less (but excluding 0) Co, 500 to 1, 500 ppm C, and the balance substantially Fe. The sintered compact preferably includes 700 to 1, 300 ppm C, 28 to 29.5 wt.% R and 0.1 to 0.8 wt.% Co. COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
