To obtain high retention characteristics while obtaining high perpendicular magnetic anisotropy and magnetic resistance effect.SOLUTION : A magnetic device is equipped with a magnetic resistance effect element. The magnetic resistance effect element includes : a first ferromagnetic layer; a second ferromagnetic layer; and a first rare earth magnetic oxide layer. The first rare earth magnetic oxide layer is provided between the first ferromagnetic layer and the second ferromagnetic layer and magnetically couples the first ferromagnetic layer and the second ferromagnetic layer.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 3
