PURPOSE : A backlight unit and display apparatus thereof are provided to improve the video quality of a display by guiding light in which is provided from a liquid crystal panel to a rare side. CONSTITUTION : Plural optical sources(220) are arranged on a first layer(210). The optical sources include a light emitting surface. The first layer includes a second layer. A first optical source includes a second optical source. The optical sources include vertical or horizontal light emitting device in which is included in a molding unit. The molding unit includes holes. The first optical source is faced with the inner side of the molding unit.
