PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor which has high dielectric constant and is excellent in DC bias characteristics and DC aging characteristics while satisfying X5R characteristics in EIA standards. SOLUTION : A dielectric layer 5 is made of a dielectric porcelain containing barium titanate as a main component and having calcium, magnesium and a rare earth element, wherein main crystal particles comprise crystal particle having a core shell structure, the crystal particles each have a first crystal particle having calcium concentration of <0.3 atom% and a second crystal particle having calcium concentration of ≥0.3 atom% and each have an average particle size of 0.15-0.4 μm, and the crystal structure of a core portion 9a is a tetragonal system and the crystal structure of a shell portion 9b surrounding the core portion 9a is a cubic system, and the average thickness of the shell portion 9b which is calculated based on X-ray diffraction information is 5-15 nm.
