PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for treating rare earth magnetic powder, by which more uniform crystalline structures are produced. SOLUTION : The method for treating rare earth magnetic powder includes a hydrogenation-disproportionation treatment composed of : a low temperature treatment for heating the powder at a temperature of 300-600°C in an atmosphere containing hydrogen and retaining the heated powder; and a high temperature treatment for heating the powder treated by the low temperature treatment at a temperature higher than 600°C in an atmosphere containing hydrogen and retaining the heated powder.
