(57) Abstract : A composition for the treatment of wood contains formate together with sorbate and/or benzoate, dissolved in an aqueous liquid carrier. The formate, the sorbate or the benzoate is particularly an alkali metal salt, an alkaline-earth salt, an aluminium alt, or an ammonium salt. The composition is used tot preservation of the wood simultaneously against surthce mould and wood rotting and blue stain fungi.
