Absorbent solution (I) comprises : at least one amine; water; and at least one compound inhibiting degradation of the amine, where the compound is a thio compound of formula (R 1-[C(R 3)(R 4)] n-S x-[-[-C(R 5)(R 6)-] m-S y-] z-[-C(R 7)(R 8)-] p-R 2) (a). R 1-R 8H, a group of formula (-V 1-W 1), amine group of formula (-N(R 12)-R 13), nitrile, nitro or 1-12C hydrocarbon; V 1O or S; W 1H, a group of formula ((-R 9-O) q-R 10) (3a), alkaline or alkaline-earth metal, monovalent metal, divalent metal, trivalent metal or ammonium; R 91-20C hydrocarbon; q : 0-10; R 10H, 1-20C hydrocarbon or group of formula (R 11-S-T); R 111-12C hydrocarbon; T : H, alkaline or alkaline-earth metal, monovalent metal, divalent metal, trivalent metal or ammonium; R 12, R 13H or a group (3a); x, y : 1-4; and m, n, p, z : 1-10. An independent claim is included for a process of limiting the degradation of an amine contained in an aqueous solution to absorb acid compounds contained in the gaseous effluents comprising : adding a determined quantity of degradation inhibitor compounds in an aqueous solution.
