PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an n-type thermoelectric semiconductor which is made of a rare earth boron carbide, and has a high density. SOLUTION : The n-type thermoelectric semiconductor which is made of the rare earth boron carbide is characterized in that a metallic boride or YB25C is added to the rare earth boron carbide and the density thereof is ≥80%, and the composition thereof is a rhombohedral system or trigonal system having a composition represented by formula 1.
