PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet having excellent magnetic characteristic, thermal stability, and heat resistance without using heavy rare earth element. SOLUTION : A rare earth magnet includes an inorganic crystal phase including a magnetic body having a rare earth element and a transition metal. The magnetic body consists of a fluoride crystal phase whose composition is represented by a chemical formula of RxTyFz (R : rare earth element, T : transition metal, F : fluorine, 1.5≤x≤2.5, 16.5≤y≤17.5, and 2.5≤z≤3.5). The rare earth element R is at least one kind chosen from Y, Ce, Pr, Nd, and Sm. The transition metal T is at least one kind chosen from Fe and Co. COPYRIGHT : (C)2011, JPO&INPIT
