PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an electrode material, an electrode and an electrode member which are used for a cold cathode fluorescent lamp, to provide the cold cathode fluorescent lamp, and to provide a liquid crystal display device. SOLUTION : The cold cathode fluorescent lamp 100 includes a glass tube 102 the inner wall surface of which is provided with a fluorescent substance layer 101 and the inside of which is filled with rare gas and mercury, and a pair of electrodes 103 arranged on two ends of the glass tube 102. The electrode 103 is made of an Ni alloy which contains Si, Al, and at least one element which is selected from an element group including Ti, Hf, Zr, V, Fe, Nb, Mo, Mn, W, Sr, Ba, B, Th, Be, Y, Mg, In, and rare earth elements, by an amount of ≥0.001 mass% and ≤5.0 mass% in sum total of Si, Al and the at least one element, with the balance including Ni and impurities. The electrode 103 is made of an electrode material of the nickel alloy with the components as above, not a Ni single substance, thereby improving the electric discharge performance, oxidation resistance, sputtering resistance and reaction resistance to mercury, and achieving high brightness and a long service life.
