PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve problems that, though there is a sickle having a structure in which both ends of a handle gripped for operation are directly attached onto the upper surface of a blade body as a conventional technique, surface soil coming out during the operation adheres to the attached part of the handle with the blade body, solidifies and reaches the blade causing reduction of function for cutting grass, therefore, operation for removing the grass is required every time, in addition, though it is rare, there are some defects such as injury of a hand gripping the handle caused by foreign materials present on the ground surface and in the grass, and the like.
SOLUTION : Hollow cylinders are arranged under a space made by separating the blade body and the handle, a protection cover is arranged above the space, and they are integrally fixed with the blade body and the handle using a bolt and nut. Thus, surface soil and grass do not stagnate, therefore, the surface soil adheres little due to the hollow cylinders, and automatically separates and falls off owing to hollow cylindrical effect, even though the surface soil adheres. The protection cover prevents the hand from injury and imparts psychological security.
