PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve such problems that the degradation caused by ultraviolet rays is caused when a resin is used as a material for dispersing a phosphor, and good wave length conversion efficiency is difficult to obtain when rare earth elements which serve as a luminescent center as a component of a glass itself is added, and reproducibility is not enough since a light emitting property changes with a production condition.
SOLUTION : A small, durable light-emitting device having a semiconductor laser and a wavelength conversion member is provided. The wavelength conversion member contains at least either of dispersed oxynitride phosphor particles or nitride phosphor particles in the glass having a softening point of ≥700°C and the glass is an oxynitride glass. In a manufacturing method for the wavelength conversion member, the rare earth elements in the phosphor do not dissolve in the glass and maintain a particle state, and wavelength conversion efficiency is improved, and the member does not deteriorate by the excitation light ranging from violet to ultraviolet. A stable wavelength conversion member which has high light extraction efficiency from the phosphor and which is not affected by atmosphere such as moisture is obtained.
