PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnesium alloy having high yield strength and high tensile strength. SOLUTION : The magnesium alloy comprises an Mg-Zn-Y-RE based alloy containing Zn, Y as essential constituents and at least one of La, Ce, Nd, Pr, Sm and Yb as RE and the balance Mg with inevitable impurities. In the alloy structure of the Mg-Zn-Y-RE, a long period stacking order (LPSO), an αMg phase and a compound are contained. The volume fraction of LPSO is in a range of ≥8%, the volume fraction of the compound is in a range of 2.7-12% and the component of Zn is in a rage of ≤2 at%. COPYRIGHT : (C)2011, JPO&INPIT
