PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for filling a powder where, the powder can be smoothly filled into a die cavity by attaining good fluidity of the powder for improving the filling properties of a raw material powder of a rare earth magnet upon molding in the production of a rare earth sintered magnet. ŽSOLUTION : In the method for filling a powder, a gas is introduced into the powder (rare earth magnet raw material powder) fed inside a feeder 3, and the powder in the feeder is packed into each cavity 2 of a die 1, wherein regarding the amount of the gas to be introduced, the flow rate of the gas is set in such a manner that the volume of the feeder is denoted as V0(L) and the flow rate of the gas is denoted as V1(L/min), 1≤V1/V0≤30 is satisfied. Alternatively, the flow rate of the gas is set in such a manner that the volume of the powder in the feeder is denoted as V2(L) and the flow rate of the gas is denoted as (L/min), 1.5≤V1/V2≤95 is satisfied.
