Low iron float glass and its preparation method and use

PURPOSE : A float glass having a low content of iron is provided to be economically manufactured due to a low redox rate without using rare-earth elements as an oxidizer or a coloring agent and to be used as a substrate of a thin film type solar cell.CONSTITUTION : A float glass having a low content of iron comprises 65-75 weight%% of SIO_2, 10-15 weight%% of Na_2O, 0-5 weight%% of K_2O, 7-12 weight%% of CaO, 0.1-0.3 weight%% of SO_3, 2-5 weight%% of MgO, and 0-3 weight%% of Al_2O_3. The float glass includes an iron content of 150 ppm or less. The float glass has visible ray transmittance of 91%% or more and solar ray transmittance of 90.2%% or more. The float glass has a redox rate of 10-30%% without including oxides of lanthanoid as an oxidizer and a coloring component.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
