PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve such a problem that the basicity of a material is lost when a rare earth element modified on a material surface reacts with Al2O3 at a high temperature while it is considered that the material for which the surface is modified by the rare earth element of strong basicity (La or Nd, for instance) with Al2O3 capable of maintaining a high specific surface area to a high temperature as a base is effective for the request of the material which has (1) heat resistance and (2) sintering suppressing ability (surface basicity) together.SOLUTION : A carrier of a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas is made of by modifying the surface of [!theta!]-Al2O3 powder with a rare earth metal.COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
