PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metal material having a resinous corrosion-resistant layer, having corrosition resistance in a naked state or after coating equal to or more than that of a conventional chromate film without using hexavalent chromium at all and showing excellent processability. SOLUTION : The metal material has the resinous corrosion-resistant layer, which is based on a group IVA metal compound, a rare earth metal compound and a resin, provided on its surface.
