PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To ensure the reliability of a multilayer ceramic capacitor even when a dielectric ceramic layer is reduced in thickness to 1 μm. SOLUTION : In the dielectric ceramic expressed by a composition formula 100(Ba1-xCax)mTiO3+aMnO+bCuO+cSiO2+dMgO+eRO (wherein, coefficient 100, a, b, c, d, e are mol ratio, m is mol ratio of (Ba1-xCax) to Ti, RO is a rare earth element oxide selected among Y2O3, La2O3, 2CeO2, Nd2O3, Sm2O3, Eu2O3, Gd2O3, Tb2O3, Dy2O3, Ho2O3, Er2O3, Tm2O3, Yb2O3, Lu2O3) m, x, a, b, c, d and e in the composition formula satisfy respectively the relation of 0.998≤m≤1.030, 0≤x<0.04, 0.01≤a≤5, 0.05≤b≤5, 0.2≤c≤8, 0.05≤d≤3.0, 0.05≤e≤2.5 and also an average particle size is ≥0.35 μm and ≤0.65 μm.
