PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To secure high magnetic characteristics by suppressing use of rare metal for a rare earth magnet with thick magnet thickness. SOLUTION : The rare earth magnet has RTB (wherein R is a rare earth element, T is a transition metal element, B is boron) as components, is constituted of magnetic powder constituted of crystal grains, wherein the ratio of a short diameter to a long diameter is ≤0.5, the short diameter is ≥10 μm, and an element Rm which has magnetic anisotropy higher than that of R is contained on the surface and the inside of the magnet to be constituted of the magnetic powder approximately at fixed concentration, and acid fluorides and carbon exist in a grain boundary of the magnetic powder.
