PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a starting electric motor for two-wheeled vehicle, which has a structure for improving rectification property of the starting electric motor without performing chamfering work on end parts of a rare earth magnet.
SOLUTION : The starting electric motor includes a housing fitted to an engine and a rotor which is freely rotatably supported by the housing. The housing includes a first rare earth magnet 8a magnetized to an N pole and a second rare earth magnet 8b magnetized to an S pole and arranged in a position confronted with the first rare earth magnet 8a. Thus, magnetic flux density occurring between an end part 8c of the first rare earth magnet 8a and an end part 8d of the second rare earth magnet 8b drops without ciphering work of the end parts 8c and 8d on the rare earth magnets 8a and 8b. Namely, switching of magnetic flux between rotor cores 10a to 10d and the end parts 8c and 8d of the rare earth magnets 8a and 8b becomes moderate. Thus, rectification property of the starting electric motor 1 improves and cogging is reduced.
