PHOSPHOR AND MEANS FOR AUTHENTICITY DISCRIMINATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a phosphor for authenticity discrimination which is not substantially excited in ultraviolet rays at about 365 nm widely used in general, but is emitted light in ultraviolet rays in different wavelength regions, and to provide an authenticity-discriminating means using thereof. SOLUTION : The phosphor for authenticity discrimination is a rare earth oxysulfide phosphor typified by a phosphor represented by general formula Lu2O2S : Pr. The phosphor has a feature that the phosphor is excited in ultraviolet rays at least 290 nm to 310 nm by activating using trivalent praseodymium (Pr3+), wherein the rare earth oxysulfide is to be a matrix, and is not excited in ultraviolet rays at about 365 nm such as black light.
