PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a hydrogen storage alloy having excellent pulverization characteristics and hydrogen storage properties and also, battery characteristics of having high capacity and suppressing internal-pressure rise in a battery. SOLUTION : This hydrogen storage alloy is an AB5-type hydrogen storage alloy having a CaCu5-type crystal structure represented by general formula MmNiaMnbAlcCod(wherein, Mm is misch metal; and 3.60≤a≤3.90, 0.30≤b≤0.5, 0.20≤c≤0.4, 0.60≤d≤0.80 and 5.10≤a+b+c+d≤5.30 are satisfied), and the lattice length of the C axis is ≥4.055 Å.
