PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of selectively removing carbon monoxide, in particular, selectively removing carbon monoxide at 100°C or less, from a gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide less than the hydrogen. SOLUTION : The method of selectively removing carbon monoxide comprises a process of allowing a mixed gas obtained by mixing gas containing oxygen to the gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide less than the hydrogen to contact with a catalyst which carries three components of a noble metal (1), at least one kind (2) selected from a group consisting of nickel, cobalt and iron and at least one kind (3) selected from a group of magnesium, calcium, barium and rare earth metal.
