PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To achieve a high NOx storage performance while restraining the deterioration of Rh. SOLUTION : Rh and an alkali metal are carried on a first catalyst powder 20; and at least either of Pt or Pd, and at least either of an alkaline earth metal or a rare earth metal are carried on a second catalyst powder 21.
