PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a nickel hydrogen storage battery which is further improved in cycle life characteristics even when a rare earth-Mg-Ni-based alloy is used as an active material of a negative electrode. SOLUTION : The nickel hydrogen storage battery includes : the negative electrode formed by laminating two or more crystal phases with different crystal structures in a c-axis direction of each crystal structure, and containing a rare earth-Mg-Ni-based hydrogen storage alloy; and an alkali electrolyte solution containing zinc ion and sodium ion.
