A ceramic material with a garnet crystal structure showing low thermal conductivity and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to show a high thermal expansion coefficient as much as that of a metal parent material while showing low thermal conductivities. A ceramic material showing low thermal conductivity has a garnet crystal structure of A3B5O12. In the garnet crystal structure, the A is one rare earth material selected from the group consisting of Er, Gd, Y and La; and the B is one material selected from the group consisting of Al and Ga. The A consists of Er and the B consists of Al and/or Ga. The ceramic material with a garnet crystal structure shows 2.5-3.6W/mk of thermal conductivity at the temperature of 1000°C.
