PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve such a problem that in a Hull-Bach magnetic circuit for a linear motor, the magnetic circuit is created by surface-processing each magnet one by one and assembling mutually the permanent magnets with coatings formed, so that a layer comprising an adhesive agent and a layer comprising a surface-processed coating are interposed between the permanent magnets for forming the magnetic circuit, therefore a clearance and a positional discrepancy are generated.
SOLUTION : In a rare-earth-element magnet-unit, a first R-Fe-B-based sintered magnet oriented orthogonal to its principal surface and a second R-Fe-B-based sintered magnets disposed at both ends of the first magnet and oriented aslant by a predetermined angle relative to their principal surfaces are disposed integrally so that their surfaces become a common surface. A magnetic circuit for a linear motor is created by using an R-Fe-B-based sintered magnet unit wherein only the corners of the outer surface of the rare-earth-element magnet unit have chamfered surfaces and the outer surface has a coating made of one of an epoxy resin, a silicone resin, Al, and Ni.
