PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide aluminum foil for an electrolytic capacitor in which pits can be uniformly dispersed at high density, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION : The aluminum foil for an electrolytic capacitor includes : by mass, 5 to 60 ppm Si; 5 to 60 ppm Fe; 10 to 70 ppm Cu; one or more selected from Zr and Ni by 1 to 15 ppm in total; one or more selected from Sn, B, Zn, Ga and In by 5 to 50 ppm in total; one or more selected from rare earth elements by 1 to 20 ppm in total, and the balance Al with inevitable impurities.
