PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To prevent the luminous efficiency degradation of an electrodeless discharge lamp while suppressing the rise of a coldest point temperature.SOLUTION : The luminaire comprises a casing 2 for storing the electrodeless discharge lamp 1 having a bulb 3 in an approximately air-tight manner, and an induction coil (not illustrated) arranged adjacent to the bulb 3. The bulb 3 is formed of a translucent material to be hollow and air-tight and is filled with rare gas and mercury. On the outer peripheral face of the bulb 3, a coldest point portion 6 is provided whose temperature is the coldest. A space in the casing 2 where the coldest point portion 6 is located is provided with a vent portion 15 passing through the outside of the casing 2. Thus, the heat of the coldest point portion 6 is dissipated via the vent portion 15 to the outside of the casing 2 to suppress the rise of the coldest point temperature.COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
