PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a technique for improving APF without increasing the maximum capability of a motor. SOLUTION : A rare earth magnet 14MRb is induction-heated in heating high-load operation by carrying high harmonic current to an armature winding wire 16CR to reduce the residual magnetic flux density, whereby the rotating speed of a radial gap type motor 10R is improved. The rare earth magnet 14MRb is provided in the vicinity of a refrigerant passage 30P substantially parallel to the flow line of refrigerant, whereby the refrigerant recovers the heat of the heated rare earth magnet 14MRb. A large rotating speed is obtained relative to the same torque instruction value in cooling high-load operation by weak field control by current phase advance. COPYRIGHT : (C)2010, JPO&INPIT
