PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To solve the problem of simultaneously satisfying improvement in the temperature characteristics of dielectric constant and improvement in the mechanical strength, in the electronic device level of a ceramic multilayer device. SOLUTION : Both improvement in the mechanical strength and improvement in the temperature characteristic of dielectric constant can be satisfied simultaneously, because the temperature characteristics of the dielectric constant of a ceramic dielectric layer 1 is improved by using at least one of rare-earths and titanium oxides as the material for the ceramic dielectric layer 1 and mechanical strength is improved, by introducing compressive stresses to the principal front surface 4 of the ceramic dielectric layer.
