PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a teraheltz light conducting substrate which is easily mass-produced at a low cost, and a teraheltz light detecting device, a teraheltz light generating device, and a teraheltz light measuring device using the same.
SOLUTION : The teraheltz light conducting substrate has a first semiconductor layer 11 and a second semiconductor layer 12 which is formed on one principal surface of the first semiconductor layer 12 and shows conductivity by light irradiation, the second semiconductor layer 12 containing a rare earth element. Consequently, a light conductive material is obtained which has three characteristics of (1) a very short carrier lifetime, (2) high insulating properties, and (3) relatively high mobility necessary for a light conductive material.
