SOLUTION : A positive electrode for a battery contains as a positive electrode active material a transition metal composite oxide and satisfies, within a range of 50% to 90% of depth of discharge, a relation in which the minimum value I1 of X-ray diffraction intensity with at least one or more X-ray diffraction peak to X-ray diffraction intensity I0 at 100% of depth of discharge is to be I1/I0>0.5.
