The present invention provides an exhaust gas purification catalyst comprising a three-way catalyst keeping down the amount of use of expensive precious metals, in particular not using Pt, and not containing any expensive rare earth elements and having a catalytic activity of the same level as the past and of an exhaust gas purification honeycomb structure with catalysts, that is, an exhaust gas purification catalyst containing an oxide M(Co1-yFey)O3-δ loading one or both of the precious metals of Pd and Rh (where M is a combination of elements substantially selected from Ba and Sr, y is 0 to 1, and δ is a value determined by satisfying a charge neutral condition) (A) and an activated alumina loading one or both of the precious metals of Pd and Rh (B) and, further, an exhaust gas purification honeycomb structure having the exhaust gas purification catalysts wash-coated on a ceramic or metal honeycomb.
