PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric ceramic being manufactured by the combustion synthesis and having excellent dielectric characteristics such as high relative permittivity while keeping a good temperature coefficient, etc., and its manufacturing method.
SOLUTION : The dielectric ceramic is manufactured by the combustion synthesis and comprises Sr, Li, Ti, O, and Nd. Its molar composition ratio is SrO : 16, Li2O : x, Nd2O3 : y, Re2O3 : (12-y), and TiO2 : 63 (Re is a rare earth element other than Nd, 8≤x≤14, 10≤y≤12), and a reaction material containing powders of at least a Ti powder having a specific surface area of 0.01-2 m2/g, an ion binding material as an oxygen source, SrCO3, Li2CO3, and Nd2O3 is compounded to make the dielectric ceramics to meet the molar composition ratio, and it is manufactured by the combustion synthesis employing an adiabatic flame temperature of not lower than 1, 500°C.
